2/6/2021 st. george and las vegas

after leaving zion, we headed into st george to stock up on some groceries. our costco run turned into an entire reorganization of the car in the costco parking lot ( was much needed, even though a bag of oatmeal may have exploded all over the lot 😁) found a $5 sushi deal at a grocery store before heading to our campground for the night

woke up the next morning to explore some petroglyphs that were recommended to us by some hikers we met in escalante. super cool place. rather than the parks that wouldn’t let us get close to the art, we were able to walk all over the rocks that had these petroglyphs. super convinced that aliens left them... why else would the hand symbol have so many fingers ?!?

after the petroglyphs, we went to explore a labyrinth in the kayenta art village nearby, but instead we stumbled upon the village center that was bustling with art galleries and pottery. we were so happy to see art again, so inspiring to speak with all of these artists while viewing their amazing work. sadly, we had to make our way to vegas before exploring the labyrinth, but there’s always next time kayenta;)

we decided to get a hotel in vegas because they are so cheap. a nice shower and place to do some chem lab work and take exams was super nice. we explored the strip of vegas at night... a very different scene than what we’re used to as we normally spend all our time in nature lol. crazy to see people spending probably more money in one night than we will on this whole trip lol. messed around in the bellagio for a bit before getting VEGAN cinnamon rolls. i have never seen natalia more excited in my 4 years of knowing her. the cinnamon rolls were amazing. tons of flavors or icing and insane toppings, what a treat.

the next morning, we took our chem exams before heading to an all you can eat chinese buffet... what else would we do in vegas ?? stuffed ourselves so so much. a nice change from our carrots and celery and nuts and soup and beans that we’ve been living off of ahaha. still love our car meals though. we were so so full after this, i couldn’t drive anywhere too far. found a skate park in vegas, where we started to head towards until we saw GARAGE SALES !! ended up finding some new dope clothes, a bike rack, and a wetsuit (perfect time before cali)!! ran out of cash but some guy ended up paying the $2 for a skirt and sweater for natali and i 🐸 eventually made it to the skatepark, always a blast. learned to play a new song on the guitar from a random dude from san diego before making our way to death valley
