the beginning: new mexico

first update!! made the 18 hour drive out to tularosa, new mexico after spending the night in iowa city with our dear friend lexi 🐒 spent the car ride working on homework, listening to podcasts, and enjoying the beautiful scenery of missouri, kansas, oklahoma, and texas !! super beautiful sunset & night sky on the way out west

we arrived in tularosa around 1 am, where we found some beautiful BLM land to sleep on for the night. fell asleep under the stars and woke up surrounded by desert mountains <3 oatmeal, tea, some guitar then we headed to white sands national monument !!

white sands was insaneeeee, we hiked for a while and then ended the day watching the color of the sand change from white to a blue-hue as the sun set. the colors of the sky were insane and the sand looked like snow as we walked back to the car when the sun was down!! incredible first experience out on the road ☀️
